Several years ago a commercial ended with, “Have a coke and a smile!” Here at St. Matthews Baptist Preschool, we begin our day with, “Greet a friend with a smile!” I only wish I could share with you the joy that I receive each morning as I greet our preschool friends during our morning carpool time. I am greeted with, “Mrs. Susan, I brought my quilt; today is ‘Q’ day,” or maybe I get to be the first one to see the picture of a new baby brother or sister. I get a whole lot of hugs, an occasional “How are you?” and at least a dozen ‘high fives’ every morning.

Our day has begun… Our classes are filled with happy, curious children, with qualified, loving teachers, and with so much fun, you might not even realize how much learning is taking place! We offer a half-day preschool program for 3’s, 4’s and 5’s with a lunch bunch option two days a week. We are pleased to be a Christian Preschool as we share the love of Jesus every day. We thank God for the sunshine and the rain. We sing that Jesus loves each of us, and we sometimes remind that Jesus taught us to be good friends. We thank God for our snack, and we routinely pray for our friends that may be sick or even the friends that might be traveling to Disneyworld!
